Basketball Court Incidents

Dear Weston Hills Association Members,

It is with great disappointment that we are reporting a serious incident at the basketball courts this past week that required a visit from the police. For several weeks we have been addressing a group of individuals that are playing at the courts that are yelling obscenities, leaving trash behind, speeding through the community, trespassing on neighbor’s properties, not leaving when the courts close, and damaging the entrance gates.

These individuals are guests of our owners, most do not live in the community. The owners allowing these individuals in are responsible for the actions of their guests and any damage incurred to the common areas of Weston Hills. We have referred this incident to authorities and the community attorney’s office for further follow up and enforcement.

We have temporarily removed the basketball rims and nets for the rest of this month to allow some peace and quiet to return to this area and the owners surrounding it. These courts are intended mainly for the use of our owners and their children. Because of this misuse there are several younger members that are not able to play safely in this area and neighbors near the courts are very unhappy about this problem.

We will be adding this issue to the next agenda for the next Board meeting December 12, 2019 for a community discussion to assist the Board in finding a community wide solution to this issue.

Weston Hills has taken pride in providing the best for their owners. Great value to your homes, nice amenities, security and peace of mind. Weston Hills is a safe place for our children and families and we want to keep it this way. We must work together to maintain this for all who live here.

Thank you,
