Tropical Storm Isaias Update #4

Good morning everyone,

The good news is Hurricane Isaias has been downgraded to a tropical storm. It’s speed has decreased again so rain and wind may not reach us until this afternoon, but they also won’t be severe. Just be prepared for bands of rain to pass through and some breezy conditions.

Current path of Tropical Storm Isaias

For up-to-the-minute reports on Isaias, tune in to your local TV station [with its proximity, stations will have regular updates].

Again, please stay safe!

Hurricane Isaias Update #2

Good afternoon everyone,

Hurricane Isaias remains on it’s current path. It has shrunk a bit but will still bring rain and winds to our area, though forecast now to come tomorrow [Sunday] and last into Monday.

Here is the Channel 9 update from noon today:

Current Hurricane Isaias path as of 11 AM today.

Again, please stay safe and see our previous pasts for links to hurricane safety tips.

Hurricane Isaias Update

Good morning residents,

Hurricane Isaais has increased in strength becoming a category 1 hurricane [up from a tropical storm] and possibly reaching category 2 as it passes by. The path still shows it skimming the edge of the state and heading northeast. Whereas the eye of the storm will stay out at sea currently, we will still feel wind and rain this weekend.

Current Hurricane Path from NOAA’s Web Site

Below is the possible damage from each category of hurricane. Right now, we are not in the path but Isaias will affect the weather in all of Central Florida.

For hurricane safety tips visit the NOAA Weather Center page HERE and see yesterday’s post.

Please stay safe.

Tropical Storm Isaias

Good morning residents,

As everyone knows, we are now into Hurricane Season here in Florida and in the time of the season when there is more activity. Tropical Storm Isaias is approaching the state. This morning’s forecast from the NOAA web site shows the storm skimming the coast of South Florida and going up and to the east. This path would certainly bring us rain and winds.

The good news is that the better side of a storm to be on is the west side [less winds and rain] as long as this path remains the same.

For hurricane preparedness information please see our plan:

The National Weather Service\NOAA also has a lot of good information for storm preparedness during COVID-19 on their web page.

Please stay safe and prepared. If the storm stays on its current path we will get inclement weather Saturday and Sunday. I will post updates for the next few days as we watch the storm.
